Officially known as the Republic of Seychelles, it is a country in the Indian Ocean, located 1500 kilometers off East Africa. An archipelago of 115 islands, 41 of them are granite islands and 74 are low-lying coral atolls and reef islands. Many of the islands are uninhabited and Seychelles is famous for having some of the best beaches in the world, unspoilt and isolated. The sea waters are so pristine that often the beaches display multitude shades of blue. The three most populated and developed islands in Seychelles are Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue.
